JHS Fall Play "Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

The “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” was written in 1802 by Washington Irving and is sometimes referred to as America’s first ghost story.Through both suspense and humor it tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a young gentleman who moves to the small town of Sleepy Hollow to take up the position as the local schoolmaster. In this New England community of Dutch immigrants, he soon finds himself swept up into the lore and superstitions of its quirky inhabitants. And before anyone can figure out what a hessian trooper is, Ichabod is at odds with the villagers and at the mercy of their practical jokes. Throw a beautiful young temptress, her jealous boyfriend and several “ghosts” (including the most famous one without a head,) into the mix and you have the makings of a spooky, fall hootenanny!
